We bought extra covers because it was so important for us to keep things clean. The covers do the job. I have to agree with another reviewer that a repositioning of velcro straps would make the covers sit a little tighter to the motor bunny.

If you are going to use the bunny for anything more than a novelty then I think the cover is well worth it (should have been included automatically). It fits on snug, I like the fit, you do have to secure it with the velcro tabs to the restraint lugs.
